Jack's Hangout/JackGamesAndReviews: 2021 Recap

Here we are - 2022 is upon us. It's been an interesting year, with the News, Coronavirus, and more. 2021 may not have been the best year we all remember, but that's not to say there wasn't anything good: in fact, there's been quite a lot of good things for people too! 😁

So, I'm going to do a little recap of all that's happened to do with Jack's Hangout and my channels this year. I've been really happy with how they went, and I'd like to share some key moments and milestones with you! Some of the people who've been in my server for a while may remember some of these too 😂.

JackGamesAndReviews 2021 Recap!

At the beginning of 2021, things were quite different to how they are now. The Jack's Hangout Discord server had about 10 members (who didn't talk), and was pretty much inactive. My YouTube Channel, JackGamesAndReviews, was at 30 subscribers, and when I uploaded random, barely edited, bad quality videos, they'd average about 3 views (from me on my computer, me on my mobile, and me on the TV 😂). 

Subscriber Count on the 1st January 2021

So, to kick this recap off, I'm going to take you through a timeline of my YouTube Channel, Twitch, and Discord Server key moments. This includes some funny stuff, as well as some memories that OG's might remember!

2021 Timeline:

1st January 2021 - At midnight, I upload my first YouTube video of the year, to the 30 subscribers I had back then. Sounds exciting, right? Well, it was just a raw, unedited VOD from my Twitch, where I'd done a stream on Christmas Day. Because, who wouldn't want to watch a recap of my stream, obviously lmao. Well, within the first week, the video received a generous 3 views (which were most likely all from me :/). But yeah, great start to the year!

3rd January 2021 - I did the first Twitch Stream of the year! Except, it wasn't really a live stream... it was just a looped recording with some text, saying "you should follow" or something like that 😅, which I left running for an hour or two. It got me one follower! From my sister...

19th January 2021 - My first Twitch Stream on Hypixel! This was the beginning of the period where I would stream numerous times per week on Hypixel (and sometimes other games).

January - March 2021 - I kept grinding at Twitch, and this was around the time where my Discord Server started gaining some new members. It was during the first week or so of this time, that some of the OG members of Jack's Hangout joined, many of whom are still around, and active, to this day!

29th January 2021 - I managed to reach 50 followers on Twitch, and met the requirements to apply for Twitch Affiliate (told you I really grinded those, most of the followers were from the last 10 days haha).

31st January 2021 - SMP Jack was opened! For any people who've been around in my server for a long time, you've probably heard me reminiscing about this server, as it was really fun. I opened a Minecraft Server, and invited around 10 loyal Twitch viewers to join me on it. We even managed to set up a Patreon page to help support hosting the server! We did loads of fun things on this, including beating the Ender Dragon, building lovely houses, getting full netherite armour, and more! It was a really fun few weeks that we played on it for, and you should check out the clips and recordings of the series on my Twitch - JackGamesAndReviews!

Some of you who were around during those streams may remember these things from the SMP:

• Me getting hit really high in the air by the Ender Dragon, managing to clutch with a water bucket on one of the pillars, being amazed at myself for such a great trick, and then promptly falling to my death while getting off the pillar 😂
• Trying to deal with conflicts between server members on a nearly daily basis.
• The lag (like, it got really bad sometimes xD)
• Joe and Whistling being absolute Minecraft Pros, and getting all the good stuff on days 1-3.

30th March 2021 - The day that I decided that I'd had enough of streaming, and announced I would not be making regular Twitch content anymore 😢. I decided instead to focus on YouTube videos, which were not as time-consuming or restricted to certain times. Luckily, that worked out, as you'll see...

04th April 2021 - A very important day for my Discord Server - I coded the first version of Jack's Bot! The bot wasn't anything like it is now, it just did some minor things, but it still was the start of Jack's Bot, and has led now to me adding over 7,000 lines of code!

Also 04th April 2021 - Wow, this really was an important day, because another big thing happened that day. Hypixel Skyblock had a new mayor - Mayor Dante 😩. I made a video of the "Riots" that were taking place across the server. And suddenly, that video started getting views. At that time, it was a lot of views. And that started getting me subscribers! It also was the beginning of my Hypixel Skyblock YouTube series (which is now my main content). I guess I kinda have to thank Mayor Dante for being the reason I now have over 425 subscribers haha! 🎉

08th April 2021 - Thanks to Hypixel Skyblock, I reached 100 subscribers on the YouTube channel!

20th May 2021 - I resigned from the large Minecraft Server HoaxMC, and decided to focus on creating better YouTube content!

Was a fun time!

18th June 2021 - Hypixel got DDoS'ed. This was not good for the players, but it really helped out my YouTube channel. I put together a quick video on what had happened, and explained about what the issue was, etc... and it got more views in the first week than any video ever did, (and ever has) got on the channel - over 6.5k views (and over 2k in the first 24 hours alone!)

View count really skyrocketed!

12th October 2021 - I uploaded a video about the Crystal Hollows in Skyblock. I almost didn't make this video at all, but I'm glad I did, as it's now my second most-watched video on the channel, with over 10,000 views!

07th November 2021 - The Discord server reached 200 members!

This was pretty funny - someone literally joined a second or two after I said that 😆

08th November 2021 - The YouTube Channel reached 400 subscribers! 🎉

And here we are. 2022.

Now let's see some statistics!

Let's take a look at some of the statistics from 2021!

The number of messages in the 💬general-chat💬 channel of Jack's Hangout, in 2021: 46,295!

The number of people who have used the "currency system" via my "Jack's Bot" - 178 unique Discord users!

The number of custom colour roles purchased from the Jack's Bot /shop - 485 roles!

The number of times I've said "lmao" in Jack's Hangout - 1,378 times!

The number of support tickets opened in Jack's Hangout - 326 tickets!

The number of suggestions made in Jack's Hangout - 308 suggestions!

The number of QOTD's asked in the Discord - 147 QOTD's!

The number of entries for Nitro Giveaways - 431 entries!

The number of times people have used /work - 1,763 times!

So what are the plans for this year?

I've got some plans and ideas for 2022, such as updates, videos, etc... None of these are for sure yet, but here are some of the ideas I'd like to do this year:

• Introduce a few new jobs for Jack's Bot.
• At the moment, there's only a few, and I think people would like some new ones to try out!
• Bring in more ways to get coins for Jack's Bot.
• Such as games, etc...
• If I get the chance, bring back the Discord games!
• Members who were in the server a few months ago may remember guess the number, brawl, blackjack, etc... and I'd like to recode these to be efficient and reintroduce them to the discord!
• A revamped ticket system!
• This will allow for speedier response times in tickets, and ensure they aren't forgotten about!
• Continue making Skyblock content on YouTube (of course).
